KJTS Secures 20-year Chilled Water Plant Project at Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin, Thailand
KUALA LUMPUR, 7 APRIL 2025 – KJTS Group Berhad (“KJTS” or the “Company”), a leading provider of cooling energy management solutions, is pleased to announce that its Thai subsidiary, KJTN Engineering Co., Ltd. (“KJTN Engineering”), has been officially selected by Central Hua Hin Beach Resort Co., Ltd. (“CHBR”) to undertake a chilled water plant improvement project under a Finance, Retrofit, Operation, Maintenance, and Transfer (“ROT”) scheme at the prestigious Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin in Thailand.
The Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin, a five-star heritage hotel originally opened in the early 1920s, is owned and operated by CHBR, a member of Central Group. The resort is one of Thailand’s most iconic beachfront properties, known for its colonial charm and expansive landscaped gardens.
The 20-year Letter of Award (“LOA”) underscores the Group’s growing presence in Thailand’s hospitality infrastructure sector and marks the third engagement between KJTN Engineering and the Central Group, one of Thailand’s largest conglomerates. To recap, in January 2024, KJTN Engineering secured a 15-year agreement with Central World Hotel Co Ltd for retrofit works, operation and maintenance services, and chilled water supply at Centara Grand Hotel at Central World in Bangkok, Thailand. This was followed by a second contract in September 2024 — a 20-year agreement with Central Plaza Hotel Public Company Limited for retrofit works involving the replacement and installation of new chillers, pumps and control panels, followed by long-term chilled water supply and operation and maintenance services at Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya.
Under the terms of the ROT with CHBR, KJTN Engineering will finance and execute the retrofit works in two phases, amounting to THB210,500,000 which is approximately RM27.31 million. Upon completion, the Company will provide long-term chilled water supply and comprehensive operations and maintenance services to the resort. The first phase of retrofit works is scheduled to be completed by 31 May 2026, followed by the second phase 24 months later. Chilled water supply and O&M services will commence from 1 June 2026 through to 31 May 2046.
KJTN Engineering will receive a fixed monthly fee beginning at THB1,468,540 which approximately RM190,521 upon completion of phase one, increasing to THB1,561,640 which approximately RM202,599 upon phase two completion. This is in addition to a variable fee based on the volume of chilled water supplied. Over the 20-year LOA term, the fixed component alone is expected to generate a total of THB372,559,200 which is approximately RM48.33 million in recurring revenue for the Group.
Commenting on the milestone, a spokesperson from KJTS said, “This LOA represents a significant step in strengthening our footprint in Thailand and our long-standing partnership with Central Group. The project aligns with our long-term strategy to provide sustainable and efficient cooling solutions to premium properties across Southeast Asia.”
Looking ahead, this project not only exemplifies KJTS’s capabilities in delivering sustainable and high-efficiency cooling solutions but also reflects the Group’s commitment to expanding its footprint in high-growth regional markets. With a growing portfolio of long-term LOA across Southeast Asia and deepening ties with leading property players like Central Group, KJTS is well-positioned to capitalise on the region’s accelerating push toward energy-efficient infrastructure. The Company remains confident that this latest milestone will serve as a strong foundation for further growth, enhanced shareholder value, and continued leadership in the cooling energy management sector.
